Three Hungarian crews are holding podium positions after first half of Saturday’s programme. David Botka and Mark Mesterhazi in Skoda Fabia R5 hold the lead with 17,1 seconds in front of Andras Hadik and Krisztian Kertesz in Ford Fiesta R5. Krisztian Hideg and Istvan Kerek in Skoda Fabia R5 are third, and as they are driving for AC Delta Sport from Zagreb, they are on the best way to become Croatian Champions for 2017. Currently they are 51 seconds behind the leaders and only 12,2 seconds in front of Rok Turk and Blanka Kacin (Peugeot 208 R5). After bad first leg Juraj Sebalj and Karlo Golub continued in the similar rythm, so they are eightplaced with more than two minutes behing the leading crew.
Tough special stages have taken their toll. Luckily no heavier crashes have been reported and part of the crews had to withdraw due to technical reasons. Krisztian Hideg had a fortunate pirouette and Vojtech Stajf has misunderstood a pacenote, so he hit the wall with no serious damage to the car. The crews have to drive special stages Butoniga and Sovinjak twice.
