The second part of special stages ended in suspense, Elfyn Evans gained an advantage of 1,6 seconds and achieved the same time as Thierry Neuville. Third in overall order is Sébastien Ogier, who was the fastest in the last two stages and is now overall 6,6 seconds behind Evans and Neuville.
„I did what I could but it wasn’t a great day for us. Never really find a good feeling and struggle a bit with the handling. Was a bit better in the last one but lots of cleaning in there as well, lots of cuts where there was no line where we made the line so there was not much more we could do“, said Neuville after the 8 special stages.
„It was a difficult stage to be honest, I didn’t have a good feeling at the end of it, it’s really tricky with all these cuts. People are cutting a lot more than we’d anticipated from the recce to be honest or really wanted to from the recce so that’s difficult to manage when it’s full of dirt like this on the second pass“, said Ogier at the end of the day.
Nikolay Gryazin and co-driver Konstantin Aleksandrov lead WRC2 by 31,1 seconds in the Citroën C3 Rally2. Yohan Rossel and co-driver Arnaud Dunand are second in the order after today's special stages, and 1:31.4s behind them are Pepe López and David Vázquez.
In the JWRC category, Romet Jürgenson and Siim Oja in Ford Fiesta Rally3 are the fastest with a lead of 1:04,3s, followed by Tom Rensonnet and Manon Deliot in the same car. Croatian duo Viliam Prodan and Marko Stiperski are 30th overall.
