Vedran Ćorluka, the FIFA World Cup 2018 silver medal winner and FIFA World Cup 2022 bronze medalist as assistent manager to Zlatko Dalić was one of the starters at the 2023 Croatia Rally Opening Ceremony.
"I am extremely pleased I have started getting to know this new sport for me and I can say that I am slowly falling in love. I will certainly follow the event and if my obligations will allow me, I will also come to the Special Stages", Ćorluka briefly said prior to raising the Croatian flag in front of the car number 8 driven by Ott Tanak.
The Ceremonial Start was attended by several other famous Croatian athletes including olympic gold and silver medalist Josip Pavić and Croatian national handball team coach Goran Perkovac the olympic gold and bronze medal winner.
